PROCLAMATION <br /> DESIGNATING JULY 21 THROUGH JULY 279 2013 AS <br /> TREASURE COAST WATERWAY CLEANUP WEEK <br /> IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br /> WHEREAS, on Saturday, July 27, 2013, the Marine Industries Association of the <br /> Treasure Coast in conjunction with the Florida Inland Navigation District will conduct the 6T" <br /> Annual Treasure Coast Waterway Cleanup; and <br /> WHEREAS, this event will attract approximately 1,000 volunteers who will participate <br /> in cleaning up the waterways of Indian River, Martin and St. Lucie Counties; and <br /> WHEREAS, twenty designated sites throughout the three counties will serve as <br /> registration and disposal sites for the volunteers to work out of; and <br /> WHEREAS, numerous waterfront homeowners associations have been recruited to <br /> cleanup their own waterfronts; and <br /> WHEREAS, in 2012, over 7.6 tons of trash was collected from approximately 125 <br /> miles of waterways with an expectation of a significantly larger amount to be collected this <br /> year with an increased volunteer effort. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, that the week of July 21, 2012 through July <br /> 27, 2013, be designated as TREASURE COAST WATERWAY CLEANUP WEEK in Indian <br /> River County, and all citizens are encouraged to use this occasion to foster appreciation for <br /> the Treasure Coast Waterways and assist in the cleanup efforts. <br /> Adopted this 9t" day of July, 2013.
