ORDINANCE NO. 86-18 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA; AMENDING INDIAN <br />RIVER COUNTY CODE -OF LAWS AND ORDINANCES CHAPTER <br />4, ARTICLE X; ADOPTING THE STANDARD SWIMMING <br />POOL CODE, 1985 EDITION; REPEALING SECTION 4-60 <br />OF THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY CODE OF LAWS AND <br />ORDINANCES; CREATING, ARTICLE I, SECTION ...4-1 OF THE <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY CODE= OF LAWS AND ORDINANCES, <br />CONDITION OF THE PERMIT; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION <br />IN CODE, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that: <br />SECTION 1 <br />Indian River County Code of Laws and Ordinances Chapter <br />4, Article X is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />The Standard Swimming Pool Code, 1985 edition, as <br />published by the Southern Building Code Congress International, <br />Inc. is hereby adopted by Indian River County as'the Swimming Pool <br />Code for Indian River County, Florida, subject to the limitations, <br />exceptions and modifications set forth herein. <br />SECTION 2 <br />Indian River County Code of Laws, and Ordinances Section <br />4-60 is hereby repealed in its entirety. <br />Indian River County Code of.Laws and Ordinances,.Article <br />1, Section 41esso1 is hereby created to read as follows: <br />Condition of the Permit. <br />A. The building official shall act upon an appplication <br />for a permit with plans as filed, or.as amended, without <br />unreasonable or unnecessary delay. A permit issued <br />shall be construed to be a license to proceed with the <br />work and shall not be construed as authority to violate, <br />cancel, alter, or set aside any of the provisions of <br />this code, nor shall such issuance of a permit prevent <br />the building official from thereafter requiring <br />correction of errors in plans 'or in construction, or of <br />violations of .this code. Any permit issued shall become <br />invalid unless the work authorized by it shall have been <br />commenced within six (6) months after its issuance, or <br />if the work authorized by such permit is suspended or <br />abandoned for a period of one year after the time the <br />work is commenced; provided, that for cause, one <br />extension of.time for a period not exceeding ninety (90) <br />days may be allowed in writing by the building <br />official. <br />
