Planning Committee shall annually review transpor- tation priorities and make appropriate recommenda- tions for approval to the Board of County Commissioners. INTERGOVERNMENTAL COORDINATION: Objective - All roadway improvements should be coordinated with appropriate local, regional, and state agencies. Policy Statement: The County will cooperate in all A-95 Review* processes and develop internal coordination of local agencies and departments. STRATEGIES: Traffic Engineering Division incorporating all major - The County will continue to cooperate with local municipalities in the development of roadway projects. Transportation Improvement Program - The County will develop a Transportation Improvement Program (T.I.P.) as a five-year plan This T.I.P. will be reviewed and updated annually. Airport Development - In anticipation of the fact that approach safety zones may be extended into unincorporated areas, the County will establish development controls consistent with Federal Aviation guidelines as needed to protect the safety of air traffic, residents and property. Port Development - The County will examine on a site -by -site basis, the development of marina facilities for commercial fishing and recreational boating. Development of commercial ports to handle major shipping of products and materials is not considered appropriate due to the County's location and would not be in keeping with overall policies and strategies for development, conservation and protection of the County's coastal resources. * See Intergovernmental Coordination Element 3/24/82 incorporating all major roadway construction and expansion plans.
