J U L 21991 <br />ROOK 8 . m1, L i6 <br />PROCLAWATION_AND- PRESENTATIONS <br />Chairman Bird read aloud the following Proclamation desig- <br />nating July 4, 1991 as "It's a Star-Spangled Celebration" and <br />announced that he will represent the Board at the 4th of July <br />celebration and read this Proclamation again at that time. <br />\� P R O C L A M A T I Q N <br />DESIGNATING JULY 4, 1991 <br />AS <br />"IT'S A STAR-SPANGLED CELEBRATION"• <br />WHEREAS, the Indian River County's Tourist Development <br />Council and the City of Vero Beach invites everyone to "IT'S <br />A STAR-SPANGLED CELEBRATION" on Thursday, July 4th= and <br />WHEREAS, Independence Day festivities are designed as <br />a patriotic celebration of our Nation's birthday, dedicated <br />this year 'as a homecoming tribute to veterans of Desert <br />Storm; and . <br />WHEREAS, the day long celebration will also pay <br />tribute to the veterans of all wars; and <br />WHEREAS, the community is encouraged to join "The <br />Spirit of 176" - it is hoped that everyone will proudly <br />display the Nation's colors at their homes; dress in <br />patriotic colors; decorate their businesses and storefronts; <br />fly the Flag and windsocks as they enjoy a day of outdoor <br />picnicking and boating; and <br />WHEREAS, the Indian River Ministerial Association <br />urges plices of worship to "Let Freedom Ring" by tolling <br />their bells and carillons at 12 Noon; and <br />WHEREAS, all day events are planned throughout Vero <br />Beach and Indian River. County; some of the events are a <br />parade in Sebastian; raft race north of the Barber Bridge; <br />old fashioned family picnic at'Leisure Square; The Great <br />American Kid -for -all: Slush, Skits and Popcorn at the Agnes <br />K.'Wahlstrom Youth Playhouse in Riverside Park; Teens party <br />for Freedom and Independence.at the Riverhouse; The Brevard <br />Symphony Orchestra in the band shell at Riverside Park, and <br />a fireworks display over the Indian River; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA THAT July 4, <br />1991 be designated as <br />IT'S A STAR-SPANGLED CELEBRATION <br />in Indian River County, and the Board encourages all <br />citizens to participate and enjoy this holiday observance as <br />it is expected to be a great celebration for all. <br />Adopted this 2nd day of July, 1991 <br />2 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Richard N.
