Tuesday, September 3, 1991 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, <br />September 3, 1991, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Richard N. <br />Bird, Chairman; Gary C. Wheeler, Vice Chairman; Margaret C. <br />Bowman; Carolyn K. Eggert; and Don C. Scurlock, Jr. Also <br />present were James E. Chandler, County Administrator; Charles P. <br />Vitunac, Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners; Joseph <br />Baird, OMB Director; and Virginia Hargreaves, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order. <br />Reverend Pete LaBarre, Trinity Episcopal Church, gave the <br />invocation, and Commissioner Bowman led the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />PROCLAMATIONS AND PRESENTATIONS <br />Chairman Bird read aloud PROCLAMATION approved at the Board <br />meeting of August 27th, designating the week of September 8-14, <br />1991, as "CELEBRATE LITERACY WEEK," and presented the Proclama- <br />tion to Bobbie Rothmayer, president of the Adult Literacy Service <br />of Indian River County, Inc. <br />Mrs. Rothmayer accepted the Proclamation, stressing the <br />importance of their literacy programs, and expressing their <br />appreciation of the Board's support. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The Chairman asked if there were any additions or correc- <br />tions to the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 6, 1991. <br />There were none. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Eggert, the Board unanimously approved the <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 6, 1991, <br />as written. <br />Boor <br />SEP 3 191 <br />
