Keating, AICP pAY_ <br />Community Development Director <br />,DATE: November 5, 1991 <br />',,SUBJECT: COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENTS <br />It°is'requested that the data hereinp resented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at its regular <br />meeting of November 12, 1991. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />Indian River County's comprehensive plan was adopted on February <br />13, 1990. Subsequent to a finding of non-compliance by the state <br />Department of Community Affairs (DCA) and then the execution of a <br />compliance agreement between the county and DCA, the plan was <br />amended in June, 1991. In August, 1991, the state found the <br />county's plan in compliance. <br />Asper state law, comprehensive plans may be amended no more than <br />".:_Twice in eachcalendaryear. The Indian River County plan <br />establishes the months of January and July as the windows when plan <br />.;amendment requests may be submitted. Each <br />amendment request was considered by the planning and zoning <br />commission at its September 26, 1991 meeting: Based upon the <br />planning and zoning commission's recommendation, the board must now <br />determine whether or not to transmit each amendment request to the <br />DCA for its 90 day review. <br />NOV 12 1991 9 ma <br />
