I';' °,I <br />Renovation of the Library Building would not only accomplish the need <br />for office space but we could convert some of the extra space to file <br />storage which is in high demand by other departments 'within the <br />County. If a new Administration Building was not available for a <br />Prolonged length of time our investment would have a greater return. <br />Renovation-iwill not significantly change the use of that building <br />which would not decrease the market value. If anything, the market <br />;.value _should increase. <br />p'• �M17 <br />`':RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />=.Staff recommends Board approval to proceed with renovation ofthe <br />Library Building and requests funding of $179,500.00 to include <br />renovation cost, operational cost and rent on the 2001 -.Building unti3_ <br />.;move in date. Attached is the Budget Amendment memorandum. <br />Commissioner Eggert requested this item be tabled to January <br />because she needed more information before making a decision. <br />General Services Director Dean said the only problem is we <br />only budgeted money for the rent at the 2001 Building through <br />December. <br />County Administrator Jim Chandler advised it would be <br />necessary for the Board to authorize a budget amendment for rental <br />for the month of January. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously tabled <br />this item but authorized a Budget Amendment to pay <br />the rent on the space in the 2001 Building for <br />January 1992. <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY HEALTH BUILDING PROJECT APPLICATION FOR FINAL <br />PAYMENT <br />The Board reviewed memo from General Services Director Sonny <br />Dean dated December 10, 1991: <br />72 <br />M <br />
