"SONNY" DEAN, DIRECTO$ <br />DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL, SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: INDIAN RIVER COUNTY JAIL, - PHASE III <br />FURNISHING"S BUDGET <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The subject project is complete and staff is in the process of <br />finalizing the associated <br />cost. This furniture had to be security type. <br />Security furnishings are all metal and have to be properly secured to <br />the floor and walls. This increased the anticipated cost of <br />furnishing that area by $51,995 plus an installation price of $675. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />In an effort to facilitate opening of the jail and allow for the lead <br />time in purchasing. security equipment these <br />ordered an p ese furnishings have <br />d are in the process o g e been <br />being installed.. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Since, the cost of security furnishings is in excess of the line item: <br />budget for that area of the jail, staff is requesting Board approval <br />to transfer $6,670 from a item under the budget in the same account. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, -the Board unanimously approved <br />the transfer of $6,670 from an item under the budget <br />in the same account, as recommended by staff. <br />28 <br />
