McMAHON <br />AND STAFFED ENVIRONMENTAL S1;ECIAL <br />BY: DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: <br />GIFFORD WATER TOWER REFURBISHMENT <br />CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 AND FINAL PAY REQUEST <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PROJECT NO. UW -91 -09 -UW <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Indian River County Board of County Commissioners approved on <br />November 26, 1991, Change Order No. 1 for the Gifford Water Tower <br />Refurbishment (see attached agenda item). This change order covered <br />the repairs to the tower in the amount of $21,900.00. In addition, <br />this change order included $2,500.00 for the needed repair of the <br />interior first coat caused by the welding on the catwalk. <br />ANALYSIS <br />Attached is Change Order No. 2 with a net decrease of $870.00. The <br />contractor required less time to repair the interior first coat than <br />was estimated, resulting in the reduction in cost. Also attached is <br />the Final Pay Request in the amount of $10,707.50. (See attached <br />Change Order No. 2 and Final Pay Request.) <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve the attached Change Order and <br />Final Pay Request and authorize the Chairman of the Board of County <br />Commissioners to execute both items. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously approved <br />Change Order No. 2 and Final Pay Request by Hi -Line <br />Contractors, as recommended by staff. <br />CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO <br />THE BOARD <br />36 <br />
