APPROVAL OF 800MHz PUBLIC SAFETY TRUNKING RADIO COMMUNICATIONS <br />SYSTEM CONSULTANT AND FUNDING FOR PRELIMINARY STUDY AND <br />RECOMMENDATION TO PRECLUDE LOSS OF FCC CHANNEL ALLOCATION <br />Emergency Services Director Doug Wright commented from the <br />following memo dated February 16, 1992: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />THROUGH: Jim Chandler <br />County Administrator <br />FROM:- Doug Wright, Director <br />Emergency Services <br />DATE: February 16, 1992 <br />SUBJECT: Approval of 800MHz Public Safety Trunking Radio <br />Communications System Consultant and Funding <br />For Preliminary Study and Recommendation to <br />Preclude Loss of FCC Channel Allocation <br />It is respectfully requested that the information contained herein be <br />considered on an emergency basis by the Board of County Commissioners <br />at the next scheduled meeting. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On May 16, 1990, the Federal Communications Commission approved the <br />"Florida - Region 9 Plan for Public Safety Radio Communications" <br />which contains the allocations for radio channels in the 821-824/866- <br />869 MHz band. The allocation for the Indian River County area is as <br />follows: <br />The eligible parties stated above understand that the frequencies <br />contained in the plan are not necessarily a permanent allocation to <br />the public safety entity or category.
