SECTION -110 - CLEARING AND GRUBBING <br />The work specified in this item shall conform to Section 110 of the Florida De•artment of <br />Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. (2014) with the <br />following modifications: <br />A. Prior to any clearing and grubbing, the contractor will stake the ri!ht-of-way. <br />Unimproved areas shall be cleared of trees, logs, stumps, brush, vegetati•n, rubbish <br />and other perishable or objectionable matter within limits shown on the plans <br />excepting for certain trees and shrubs shown on the plans or as dire •ted by the <br />Engineer which are to remain undisturbed and protected. Stumps and rots between <br />slope stakes in cuts and in embankments 3 feet or less in depth shall be removed to a <br />depth of 18 inches below subgrade. No stumps, roots, or perishable m atter of any <br />description shall remain under concrete slabs or footing, including pav-ment and <br />sidewalks. <br />B. No trees shall be removed or relocated until the Engineer or his represe <br />marked all trees to be saved, after a review of the project site with the 1 <br />representative. <br />C. Where the final pavement or structural work will be close to existing <br />Contractor shall exercise care in the vicinity of the trees. Further, the Con <br />saw cut along the edge of the outside limits of the stabilization, structure <br />sidewalk to a minimum depth of 4 feet below the finish grade and • <br />commercial grade pruning paint the ends of all sawn roots. If directed by t <br />or where shown on the drawings, work shall be done by hand in order to <br />trees. <br />D.
