_I <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Scurlock, the Board (4-1, Commissioner <br />Wheeler voting in opposition) authorized $6,000 to <br />be budgeted from MSTU to be used to financially <br />support a workshop, as described by Vision Workshop <br />Focus On The Future steering committee. <br />The Chairman recessed the meeting briefly at 10:05 A. M. and <br />the Board reconvened at 10:15 A. M. with all members present. <br />DISCUSSION REGARDING DESIGNATING DR. MARTIN LUTHER ICING JR. J'S <br />BIRTHDAY AS A COUNTY HOLIDAY <br />The Board reviewed letter from Fred Plair dated February 24, <br />1992: <br />Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. <br />Birthday Committee <br />P.O. Boz 1614 <br />Vero Beach, FL 32961-1614 Fred Plair, President <br />Shirley Lambert, Secretary <br />Debra Walker, Treasurer <br />TO: The Honorable Members of the <br />Board.of County Commissioners <br />THROUGH: James E. Chandler <br />County Administrator <br />FROM: Fred Plair, President <br />Martin Luther King Jr. Committee <br />DATE: February 24, 1992 <br />' OFFICE <br />RE: Designation of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s <br />birthday as a county holiday <br />Dear County Commissioners: <br />The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Committee respectfully requests that <br />the Board of County Commissioners consider designating Dr. Martin <br />Luther King Jr. Is birthday as a county holiday.
