LETTER: William Keating, DOT, to James Davis dated <br />April 1, 1992 <br />DATE: April 20, 1992 FILE: barber.agn <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />To implement the Merrill Barber Bridge Relocation, the DOT <br />is proposing to acquire three (3) parcels of property from <br />Indian -River County along the west approach to the proposed <br />bridge. The parcels were acquired by Eminent Domain and are <br />as follows: <br />State Parcel No. 101 11.021 acres <br />State Parcel NO. 802 7.485 acres <br />(Permanent easement) <br />State Parcel No. 801 16.923 acres <br />(Permanent easement) <br />Total 35.429 acres <br />Total compensation to the County is $294,612 for Parcels 101 <br />and 802 and $403,732 for parcel 801.. In addition, the State <br />will pay approximately 80% of future County costs paid to <br />original property owners due to pending determination by the <br />court of money due the property owner for land value (not to <br />exceed $600,000). Approximately 80% of property owner <br />attorney fees (not to exceed $300,000) will also be paid by <br />the State if so established by court order. <br />The attached two agreements have been prepared by the DOT <br />and County staff to effect this State acquisition. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The alternatives are as follows: <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Approve the two (2) agreements between the State DOT <br />and Indian River County for the acquisition of State <br />Parcels 101, 802, and 801 and authorize the Chairman's <br />signature. Revenue would be reimbursed to Fund "309, <br />Indian River.Boulevard North Extension. <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Do not approve the agreements. This action would delay <br />or cease progress on the Merrill Barber Bridge <br />relocation. <br />65 <br />APR 28 1992 BOOK <br />
