PROCLAMATION <br />DESIGNATING THE MONTH OF JULY, 2014, AS <br />TREASURE COAST WATERWAY CLEANUP <br />IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, on Saturday, July 26, 2014, the Marine Industries Association of the <br />Treasure Coast in conjunction with the Florida Inland Navigation District will conduct the 7'h <br />Annual Treasure Coast Waterway Cleanup; and <br />WHEREAS, this event will attract approximately 950 volunteers who will participate in <br />cleaning up the waterways of Indian River, Martin and St. Lucie Counties; and <br />WHEREAS, twenty designated sites throughout the three counties will serve as <br />registration and disposal sites for the volunteers to work out of; and <br />WHEREAS, numerous waterfront homeowners associations have been recruited to <br />cleanup their own waterfronts; and <br />WHEREAS, in 2013, over 7.6 tons of trash was collected from approximately 125 <br />miles of waterways with an expectation of a significantly larger amount to be collected this <br />year with an increased volunteer effort. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, that the week of July 20, 2014, through July <br />27, 2014, be designated as TREASURE COAST WATERWAY CLEANUP WEEK in Indian <br />River County, and all citizens are encouraged to use this occasion to foster appreciation for <br />the Treasure Coast Waterways and assist in the cleanup efforts. <br />Adopted this 261h day of July, 2014. <br />FLOR% <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />t <br />Peter D.
