J. Request to Close Indian River Drive for 4th of July Celebration <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 4/27/92: <br />TO: James E. Chandler, <br />County Administrator <br />FROM: James W. Davis, P.E., <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: Request to Close Indian River Drive for <br />4th of July Celebration <br />REF. LETTER: Letter from John Malek to Jim Davis dated <br />April 11, 1992 <br />DATE: April 27, 1992 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />FILE: seb4.agn <br />The City of Sebastian Celebrating the Spirit of America <br />Fourth of July Festival is requesting permission to close a <br />portion of Indian River Drive at US 1 North to Davis Street <br />on July 4th from 6 AM to 12 Midnight to accommodate the <br />Parade and Festival. Staff has no objection to this <br />request, provided that: <br />1) Proper barricades, furnished by the Traffic Engineering <br />Division, are installed by the Festival <br />representative(s) and that the representative(s) <br />contact the Traffic Engineering Division at 569-5143 <br />seventy-two hours prior to event, - <br />2) A representative be listed as a contact person in <br />charge of the event in case the road needs to be <br />opened. <br />3) Access to emergency vehicles be maintained. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends approval. No funding is applicable. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously authorized <br />the closing of Indian River Drive to accommodate <br />Sebastian's 4th of July parade and festival with the <br />3 conditions as set -out in staff's recommendation. <br />11 <br />NOK <br />MAY 0 <br />L� <br />
