Approve the contract form.. <br />3. Authorize the Director of Emergency Management Services to <br />execute said contracts on behalf of the County. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Scurlock, to adopt Resolution 92-74 <br />amending the fees, penalties and procedures related <br />to the enforcement of the animal control ordinance, <br />approved the contract form, and authorized the <br />Director of Emergency Management Services to execute <br />said contracts on behalf of the County, as <br />recommended by staff. <br />Under discussion, Commissioner Bird thought the resolution is <br />sensible because he felt the $40 fee was too high. <br />Chairman Eggert asked, and Director Wright confirmed that the <br />licensing of dogs and cats through local veterinarians and the <br />local humane society is a new procedure. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />It was voted on and carried unanimously. <br />RESOLUTION 92-7g <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS AMENDING THE FEES, <br />PENALTIES AND PROCEDURES RELATED TO THE <br />ENFORCEMENT OF THE ANIMAL CONTROL <br />ORDINANCE. <br />WHEREAS, in Resolution 91-184 the Board of County <br />Commissioners established certain fees, penalties and procedures <br />related to the enforcement of the Animal Control Ordinance, and <br />WHEREAS, the fee of $40.00 for the yearly licensing of <br />unsterilized dogs and cats is financially burdensome to many owners; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, a reduction to $10.00 will mitigate this burden and <br />result in more effective licensing procedures. <br />28 <br />
