Comurehensive Plan Economic Development Element, <br />Policv 2.13: The County shall annual 1;—PeriodicalIv re-evaluate its economic development <br />incentives by comparing its incentives with incentives offered by other jurisdictions. <br />Policv 2.14: The County shall periodically compare its impact fees an ar, annual hacisto other <br />counties in the state to determine if County impact fees are competitive for new <br />commercial/industrial development. <br />Policv 2.15: The Indian River County Chamber of Commerce and other economic development <br />groups designated by the Board of County Commissioners shall develop and provide a community <br />information package for new employees and employers relocating to Indian River County. <br />Policv 2.16: The County, through its Local Housing Assistance Program, Low Income Housing Tax <br />Credit Program, and other housing programs, shall continue to provide workforce housing in the <br />county. <br />Policy 2.17: The County will initiate and support a -voter referendums to establish and maintain an <br />Indian River County economic development tax abatement program. <br />OBJECTIVE 3: Maintain Trained Labor Force <br />Through the plan time horizon, there will be sufficient post secondary (college and technical <br />schools) training programs that meet the needs of the county's target industries. <br />Policy 3.1: The County, in conjunction with the War-kfaree Development Boafd of the T ..si <br />Coast (DBA Werl&ree Solutions) CareerSource Research Coast and the Indian River County <br />Chamber of Commerce will survey target industries to determine if educational needs are being met <br />(see policy 1.2). <br />Policv 3.2: The County shall contact four-year colleges, universities, and other training providers to <br />determine the probability of a branch campus or research facility being established in Indian River <br />County. In so doing, the County shall note that it has the ability to offset impact fees for target <br />industries, including these institutions. <br />Policv 3.3: The County shall support the expansion of the local branch of Indian River State College <br />(IRSC) by providing assistance during the permitting process. <br />Policv 3.4: The County, through the school district, shall continue to offer adult education classes <br />and occupational training for county residents. <br />Policy 3.5: The County, through the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce and other <br />Community Development Department Indian River County 49 <br />
