He said the County Code is gray, and staff's position is that because the ordinance <br />includes "any building," they now want to clarify that "any building" includes single-family <br />residences. <br />Richard Gillmor, Sebastian Councilmember and Congressional candidate, addressed the <br />LDR's regarding vacation rentals. He felt the vacation rental business is self-regulating, and he <br />cautioned the Board not to fix what is not broken. He suggested that staff invite other short-term <br />rental landlords to future workshops. <br />There being no other speakers, the Chairman closed the Public Hearing. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Solari, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Flescher, to direct staff to <br />remove the proposed changes to the "Hotel/Motel" section <br />of the Land Development Regulations. <br />Discussion ensued among the Board as to how to make the amendment to the Land <br />Development Regulations clearer. <br />MOTION WAS AMENDED by Commissioner Solari, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Flescher, to allow short- <br />term rentals for less than one month. <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the <br />motion carried. The Board unanimously directed staff to: <br />(1) remove the proposed changes to the "Hotel/Motel" <br />section of the Land Development Regulations; and <br />June 19, 2012 12 <br />aTikCHKENT 3 <br />110 <br />
