ICarter Taylor of 2235 Silver Sand spoke on behalf of the Indian River <br />Neighborhood Association (IRNA), spoke on the need to amend the comprehensive <br />plan related to septic tanks, especially related to those that were constructed prior to <br />1983 aind retrofitting failing septic systems. <br />I <br />Having no other individuals wishing to testify, Chairman Polackwich closed the <br />hearing at approximately 7:50 p.m. for discussion purposes. <br />Chairman Polackwich stated that he was against the proposal to amend Policies <br />5.7 and 5.8 to allow for the exceptions for places of worship and camps/retreats <br />because it is for a specific property that is adjacent to an agricultural use and granting a <br />policy because of special circumstances related to a specific property would open the <br />door to any type of use for any reason coming in and requesting an exception to the <br />connection policy. <br />Mr. Boling suggested that the Committee could make an amendment to add <br />different categories or recommend other amendments to the proposal. <br />1 <br />Ms. Caldarone stated that the uses need to be better defined. <br />Chairman Polackwich suggested that the Committee move to not recommend <br />adoption of this proposed amendment to Policies 5.7 and 5.8 to allow exceptions for <br />places 11of worship and camps/retreats as it could provide an opportunity for other <br />assembly uses to come in for exceptions and that consequence needs to be reviewed. <br />ON MOTION BY Dr. Day, SECONDED BY Chairman <br />Polackwich, the members voted unanimously (5-0) to <br />DENY staff recommendations as outlined above on this <br />matter. <br />i <br />There were none. <br />i <br />Planning Matters � <br />Mr. Boling reviewed the Planning formation Packet which is on file in the Board <br />of County Commission office�He noted tha he Board of County Commissioners had <br />approved Alfred and Betty�Sammartino's req es <br />rezone +/- 1.98 acres located at the <br />southeast corner <br />If <br />Dixie Highway SW and- h treet SW, from CH (Heavy <br />Commercial) to W(General Commercial).
