iM <br />DV Removal Timeline (Vessel Owner Located) <br />• Vessel Reported to FWC - Division of Law Enforcement (about 5- 6 weeks) <br />• FWC Initiates Derelict Vessel (DV) investigation (1-2 weeks) <br />• Last registered owner is contacted and has approx. 10 days to remove vessel (2 weeks) <br />• if vessel remains onsite, an abandoned property case is initiated and the vessel is posted (Florida Statutes <br />705.103) <br />• Vessel owner is notified by certified mail and has 5 days to remove (1 week) <br />• If not removed, vessel is classified as Derelict — authorized to be removed by FWC or their <br />designee (1 week) <br />• Permits (about 2-3 Months) <br />• Derelict Vessel Removal and Disposal (1-2 days) <br />Total Removal Time = Minimum 5 Months <br />Note: FWC now notifies IRC Coastal staff once Derelict Vessel investigation begins <br />
