MOTION WAS RESTATED by Vice Chairman Solari, SECONDED by Commissioner Flescher, to direct staff to draft an ordinance that would prevent commercial events at vacation rentals in single-family residential neighborhoods, defining specific events that are prohibited, include criteria for formal advertising, whether it be newspaper, internet or other prima facia evidence for the use of commercial activity, and include general criteria to enforce the ordinance. Following the Motion, Vice Chairman Solari stated that he wanted staff to bring the Ordinance back to the Board through the normal LDR amendment process. The Chairman CALLED THE OUESTION and the Motion passed unanimously. MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner O'Bryan, SECONDED by Commissioner Zorc, to ask staff to review and analyze the Monroe County Ordinance on Vacation Rentals, consider the comments from the SBPOA, and bring it back to the Board for further_discussion.F� A brief discussion followed among several Board members regarding the Monroe County Ordinance being in compliance with Department of Environmental Protection and Health Regulations. Vice Chairman Solari read the Monroe County Ordinance and said he was not going to vote in support of this Motion. He found the Monroe County Ordinance to be incredibly onerous, and while Monroe County has certain specific aspects to its naturefor which it may be appropriate in that County, he did believe it was not appropriate for the unincorporated area of Indian River County. The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the Motion carried, by a 3-2 vote (Commissioner Flescher and Vice Chairman Solari opposed).
