PUBLIC ASSISTANCE ELIGIBILITY <br /> A. Eligible Applicants include: <br /> 1. State and local governments <br /> 2. Native American Tribes and tribal organizations <br /> 3. Certain private non-profit (PNP) <br /> • Fire/Emergency <br /> • Medical <br /> ➢ Hospitals <br /> ➢ Outpatient Facilities <br /> ➢ Rehabilitation Facilities <br /> ➢ Facilities for long-term care <br /> • Custodial Care <br /> Institutional care for persons requiring close supervision and <br /> some physical constraints on their daily activities <br /> • Utility <br /> ➢ Electric Power <br /> ➢ Telephone <br /> ➢ Sewer and Water <br /> ➢ Gas Services <br /> • Educational <br /> ➢ Primary and secondary schools that satisfy state <br /> requirements for compulsory attendance <br /> ➢ A higher education institution must require graduation <br /> from a secondary school, award a bachelor degree or <br /> two year certificate, or provide a not less than one-year <br /> program, and be state accredited. <br /> B. Eligible Work must: <br /> 1. Be damages as the result of the disaster event <br /> 2. Be located within a designated disaster area <br /> 3. Be the legal responsibility of an eligible applicant <br /> 4. Be in active use at the time of the disaster event. <br /> 5. Not be under the authority of any other Federal agency to fund. <br /> 1 <br />
