VII. RESPONSE ACTIONS <br /> 1 The Indian River County EOC will be activated by the Emergency <br /> Management Director upon determination of a significant and immediate <br /> threat to life and property in Indian River County. <br /> 2. Upon activation of the EOC, all ESF primary agencies will be notified. <br /> 3. All (with the exception of the Special Needs Shelter)shelter openings will be <br /> coordinated with ESF #6 (Mass Care). <br /> 4. The School District superintendent will be notified and maintenance <br /> personnel will be requested to ready shelters for evacuees. <br /> 5. Shelter security will be coordinated and dispatched through ESF #16 (Law <br /> Enforcement). <br /> 6. Amateur radio operators will be coordinated and dispatched through ESF#2 <br /> (Communications). <br /> 7. Public announcements will be coordinated with ESF#14(Public Information) <br /> and dispatched in accordance with the concept of operations dictated in ESF <br /> #14. <br /> 8. State Warning Point will be appraised of all pertinent shelter actions. <br /> VIII. RECOVERY ACTIONS <br /> 1. Evacuees will be continually apprised of the disaster situation. <br /> 2. If the county has experienced a catastrophic disaster, evacuees will be <br /> counseled on applicable disaster assistance. <br /> 3. Once evacuees have been released, shelter managers will inventory food <br /> stocks and maintenance needs.
