Each <br /> person is different in many ways, so please feel free to add to the list to meet your needs. <br /> It is possible to be at a shelter for several days and it will be difficult to obtain the needed <br /> materials during a storm, so PREPARE EARLY! <br /> 1. ARES/RACES identification card. <br /> 2. A copy of your F.C.C. Amateur Radio Operator License. <br /> 3. 2-meter amateur radio gear. <br /> a. 2-meter radio <br /> b. Antenna (mobile or emergency) <br /> C. Batteries <br /> d. Extra batteries <br /> e. Jumper cable with connectors for your radio - so you can connect your car <br /> battery to your radio. A car battery can supply a 2-meter radio on low power <br /> with head phones for several days <br /> f. Microphone <br /> 9. Headphones <br /> h. Spare fuses <br /> i. Patch cords <br /> j. SWR meter <br /> k. Extra coax <br /> I. Roll of sturdy string <br /> 4. Writing Gear <br /> a. Pens, pencils <br /> b. Eraser <br /> C.
