School District Resolution Directing County to Place a Referendum on <br /> a.m. the Primary Election Ballot <br /> (memorandum dated June 1, 2016) 131-139 <br /> Attorney Reingold Reingold relayed that the Indian River County School <br /> Board passed a Resolution on May 31, 2016, directing the Board of <br /> County, Commissioners to call an election in conjunction with the <br /> primary election of August 30, 2016. The purpose of the election <br /> would be to place a referendum on the ballot to determine if the <br /> electorate would support an additional ad valorem tax of .05 mills <br /> for four years. <br /> Superintendent Mark J. Rendell, Indian River County School <br /> Board, stated that the School Board's current millage of.06 will be <br /> expiring and the proposal is to reduce it to .05 mills. <br /> Discussion ensued regarding the notification process for advising <br /> the taxpayers about the ballot initiative. <br /> ON MOTION by Commissioner Davis, SECONDED by Vice <br /> Chairman Flescher, the Board unanimously approved Resolution <br /> 2016-050, to call an election for a referendum to be placed on the <br /> ballot of the August 30, 2016 Primary Election. <br /> 14.
