<br />Administrator recommendations for State Agencies:
<br />• New Horizons - $287,172, an increase of $5,631, or 2.0%
<br />• State Health Department - $602,829, an increase of $17,558, or 3.0%
<br />• Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council - $61,631, an increase of $1,020, or 1.7%
<br />• Department of Juvenile Justice - $347,000, a decrease of $137,229, or (28.3%)
<br />• Medicaid (mandate from State) - $1,142,135, an increase of $126,062, or 12.4%
<br />• Environmental Control Board - $7,033, same as last year
<br />• Circuit Court Expenses - $422,829, an increase of $33,720, or 8.7%
<br />• Guardian Ad Litem - $85,411, a decrease of $6,551, or (7.12%)
<br />• Victim Assistance Program - $67,605, an increase of $782, or 1.2%
<br />• State Attorney - $169,478, a decrease of $11,929, or (6.6%)
<br />• Public Defender - $82,181, a decrease of $3,792, or (4.4%)
<br />• Medical Examiner - $370,991, an increase of $46,792, or 14.4%
<br />• State Forestry -$13,822, same as last year
<br />The proposed total for State Agencies is $3,660,117, an increase of $72,064, or 2.0%.
<br />Chairman Solari opened the floor for public comments.
<br />Dr. Roger E. Mittleman, District Medical Examiner, expressed his appreciation for funding
<br />and requested an additional $18,000 in funding to begin in January, 2017 instead of April,
<br />to provide relief sooner. With input from Administrator Brown, Commissioner Davis and
<br />Chairman Solari stated that they were not ready to add an additional $18,000 to the
<br />budget.
<br />Chief Financial Officer of New Horizons, Anette Gosselin, expressed appreciation to the
<br />Board for their continued support and stated that she was available for any questions.
<br />Miranda Hawker, Administrator for the County Health Department, expressed
<br />appreciation for the continuous support from the Board regarding numerous initiatives in
<br />the response to the Zika virus, and for making tremendous strides in health improvements
<br />for the community. She stated that she was working with Mosquito Control and other
<br />agencies with regards to planning for health and medical, and was waiting for additional
<br />information regarding more funding.
<br />Trial Court Administrator Tom Genung, on behalf of Chief Judge Metzger, expressed his
<br />gratitude for the support that the County has given to the court system, and referred to the
<br />legislature regarding past denials for funding to assist the court system with technology. He
<br />stated that he was hopeful about having the ability to return County dollars as un -
<br />obligated funds out of next year's budget.
<br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

<br />Administrator Brown provided details on Economic Development, and addressed inquiries
<br />made by the Board regarding the success of the Local Jobs Grant program.
