He <br /> disclosed that not only is the water bad, it contains elements of <br /> pollution from surrounding commercial/industrial sites. <br /> Director of Utilities Vincent Burke reported that fourteen <br /> properties would benefit from a connection to County water, <br /> and that it would be a simple project to install a small water <br /> main, one fire hydrant, and associated services. He announced <br /> the cost would be approximately $3,100 per parcel. <br /> Charles Vogt, Environmental Specialist, Health Department, <br /> summarized his findings regarding the well water, and <br /> advocated getting the residents connected to County water as <br /> soon as possible. <br /> Tony Brown, 4159 57th Court, discussed the hardships that <br /> have been endured by individual Pinson Subdivision residents, <br /> due to the poor water quality. <br /> Jeanne B. Barnwell, Pinson Subdivision resident, indicated her <br /> support for the County water project. <br /> Freddie Woolfork thanked the Board for supporting this <br /> project. <br /> ON MOTION by Vice Chairman Flescher, SECONDED by <br /> Chairman Solari, by a 4-0 vote (Commissioner Davis absent), <br /> the Board directed staff to return to the August 16, 2016 <br /> Board meeting with a recommendation for providing potable <br /> County water to the Pinson Subdivision residents as soon as <br /> Board of County Commission Meeting Page 18 <br /> July 12,2016 <br />
