® r � <br />encouraged the Board to approve the proposed referendum question in <br />the simplified form, asking for .5 mill, $26 million, and less than <br />15 years. <br />Toni Robinson, 1491 Treasure Cove Lane, wanted to include the <br />word "recreation" in the referendum, although sometimes that word <br />could be misleading. <br />Discussion ensued, and Commissioner Bowman thought "passive <br />recreation" might be more appropriate, but Attorney Vitunac advised <br />that if we add the word "passive," that restriction could cause <br />trouble in the future. <br />Ms. Robinson suggested "recreation" be defined so that it <br />would not be confused with "ballfield:" <br />Chairman Eggert confirmed that the general feeling was that <br />the word "recreation" should be left out of the language of the <br />referendum question. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Wheeler, to approve the wording as <br />recommended by LAAO, but to stress that our goal is <br />to acquire these properties with a minimum reliance <br />on taxation. <br />Under discussion, it was clarified that the motion was only <br />for the language in the referendum question and not for the <br />brochure. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />It was voted on and carried unanimously (4-0, <br />Commissioner Bird abstaining). <br />County Attorney Charles Vitunac clarified that he will present <br />a bond resolution to the Board in about two weeks. <br />Chairman Eggert led discussion regarding the brochure format <br />and type of paper to be used.
