ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board approved (3-1, <br />Commissioner Wheeler voting in opposition and <br />Commissioner Bird abstaining) the sample <br />informational brochure as presented by the <br />subcommittee of LAAC, with the addition of the words <br />"state and federal matching funds" in the second <br />paragraph, and the refined sample be presented to <br />the Board. <br />Mr. DeBlois stated that the subcommittee preferred the <br />brochure be printed on glossy paper. There was an additional <br />charge of $2,500 for glossy finish. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board (3-1, Commissioner <br />Wheeler voting in opposition and Commissioner Bird <br />abstaining) approved glossy finish paper be used for <br />the brochures. <br />FALSE FIRE ALARM SERVICE CHARGES_- CHAPTER 301, IRC CODE <br />The Board reviewed memo from Emergency Services Director Doug <br />Wright dated June 22, 1992: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />THROUGH: Jim Chandler, C my Administrator <br />FROM: Doug Wright, irector <br />Emergency Services <br />DATE: June 22, 1992 <br />SUBJECT: False Fire Alarm Service Charges - Chapter 301, IRC Code <br />It is respectfully requested that the Information contained herein be <br />given formal consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at <br />the next regular scheduled meeting. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On December 13, 1988, the Board of County Commissioners approved <br />Ordinance No. 88-47, which adopted a False Fire Alarm Ordinance and <br />established a service charge for excessive false fire alarms. The <br />ordinance provided for an alarm user to be charged $25.00 for the <br />first false alarm in excess of three false alarms in any six-month <br />period, $50.00 for the second false alarm in excess of three in any <br />six-month period, and $100.00 for the third and each successive <br />additional false alarm in excess of three in any six-month period. <br />47 <br />JUL 0 7 1992 BOOK. <br />L.- - <br />
