ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously appointed <br />Jeff Meyers to the Professional Services Advisory <br />Committee. <br />RESIGNATION OF COMMISSIONER WHEELER <br />Chairman Eggert announced that Commissioner Gary Wheeler <br />submitted a letter to Supervisor of Elections Ann Robinson <br />resigning from the County Commission effective July 13, 1992. <br />County Attorney Charles Vitunac advised that the Governor has <br />the right and the responsibility to appoint a replacement between <br />July 13 and November 10. <br />Commissioner Wheeler hoped that if there is a clear winner on <br />September 1, the Governor would appoint that person for the <br />interim. <br />Chairman Eggert asked whether the Board would be in favor of <br />writing to the Governor, based on the outcome of the September 1 <br />election and if there were no further opposition, asking him to <br />appoint that individual. <br />Commissioner Bowman and Commissioner Bird approved. <br />Commissioner Scurlock felt he would like some time to think about <br />it. <br />SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL DISTRICT <br />Chairman Eggert announced that immediately upon adjournment <br />the Board would reconvene sitting as the Commissioners of the Solid <br />Waste Disposal District.
