PROCLAMATION $� <br />HONORING TOMMY DUPUIS ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY SER VICES/FIRE RESCUE <br />WHEREAS, Tommy Dupuis retired from Indian River County Fire Rescue effective <br />May 30, 2016, and <br />WHEREAS, Tommy Dupuis began his career on June 13, 1986, as a Firefighter. He <br />was honored in 1988 when he was assigned to the National Parks and Forests of <br />Yellowstone to fight what at that time was the most severe fire in recorded history. It <br />was said he "willingly performed seemingly herculean tasks under the most adverse of <br />circumstances." In the late 1990's, he and his team assisted in the disposal of <br />unexploded military ordinance from our south beaches. He was said to have <br />"exhibited impeccable personal standards of performance forging ahead with positive <br />energy, unbridled initiative and tireless perseverance," which he continued to portray <br />throughout his career, whether fighting structural, brush, electrical, marine, kitchen, <br />auto, or wildfires. <br />WHEREAS, Tommy Dupuis has served this County and the Public with distinction and <br />selflessness. During his thirty years of service, he was dedicated and his work and <br />culinary skills, have been greatly appreciated by his employer, citizens and co-workers <br />alike; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board <br />applauds Tommy Dupuis' efforts on behalf of the County, and the Board wishes to <br />express their appreciation for the dedicated service he has given to Indian River <br />County for the last thirty years; and <br />BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the Board of County Commissioners and staff <br />extend heartfelt wishes for success in his future endeavors. <br />Adopted this 24`day of May 2016. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIANRIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Bob Solari, Chairman <br />
