Brown, County Administrator <br /> � 7 <br /> Mike Smykowski, Budget Director <br /> FROM: Jennifer Hyde, Purchasing Manage <br /> SUBJECT: Approval of Award for Bid 2016037— Headworks Screen and Compaction <br /> Equipment Refurbishment <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Department of Utility Services requested the solicitation of sealed bids for the refurbishment <br /> of headworks equipment at the West and Central Wastewater Treatment Facilities (WWTFs). The <br /> screens and compaction equipment are used to remove solids and debris from the wastewater as <br /> part of the treatment process. Bids were solicited for the refurbishment of two bar screens and <br /> one compactor at the Central facility and refurbishment of one bar screen and two compactors at <br /> the West Facility. The bar screens were included within the FY15/16 Capital Budget at $150,000.00 <br /> and rehabilitation for the compactors was added to the project.
