Keith McCully, P.E., Stormwater Engineer *?� <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Final Release of Retainage for Work Order L-1 and Associated Change <br />Orders With GK Environmental, Inc. for Egret Marsh Stormwater Park <br />DATE: August 1, 2016 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On November 16, 2010, Indian River County approved Work Order No. L-1 with G.K. Environmental, Inc. <br />(GKE) for completion of landscaping at Egret Marsh Regional Stormwater Park (Egret Marsh). The work <br />order was necessary due to the County's termination of the original construction contract with H & D <br />Construction Company, Inc. for breach of contract, and due to the performance bond company's failure to <br />act to complete the project in a timely manner. Subsequent change orders were issued to GKE for <br />landscape maintenance and exotic vegetation control services. <br />This Agenda Item is a request for final release of retainage for the Work Order and its associated change <br />orders. All work related to the requested retainage release has been performed by GKE and accepted <br />by the County. The final retainage amount is $2,152.15. <br />FUNDING <br />The release of the $2,152.15 retainage will be paid from Transportation Fund/Retainage- G.K. <br />Environmental/Egret Marsh - Account Number 111-206000-05057. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the County Commission approve release of final retainage for Work Order L-1 and its <br />associated change orders. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Invoice from G.K.
