A tubular steel mast arm design was chosen as the
replacement for the existing span -wire signals at the
aforementioned intersection. Due to a recent City Council
decision, it will now be necessary for the City's consultant,
Reith & Schnars to redesign the traffic signalization plan. This
cost will be approximately $3,500, and the City is requesting
that Traffic Impact Fees be used to cover this cost.
RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING
Staff has considered this request and recommends that $3,500 be
allocated to the City of Vero Beach from District 2 Traffic
Impact Fees for the South AlA intersection improvements.
Commissioner Bowman asked how much money is left in the
District #2 account, and Public Works Director Jim Davis advised
that $1.3 million has been collected since March, 1986 and there is
approximately $900,000 left.
ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by
Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously (3-0,
Commissioner Bird being absent) approved the
$3,500 allocation to the City of Vero Beach
from the District 2 Traffic Impact Fees for the
South AIA intersection improvements, as recommended
by staff.
52
I
