Do not store or park materials or equipment within the drip line of trees that are <br /> to remain. <br /> C. Install temporary fences or barricades to protect trees and plants in areas <br /> subject to traffic. <br /> D. Fires shall not be permitted under or adjacent to trees and plants. <br /> E. Within the limits of the Work, water trees and plants that are to remain, in order <br /> to maintain their health during construction operations. <br /> F. Cover all exposed roots with burlap and keep it continuously wet. Cover all <br /> exposed roots with earth as soon as possible. Protect root systems from <br /> mechanical damage and damage by erosion, flooding, run-off or noxious <br /> materials in solution. <br /> G. If branches or trunks are damaged, prune branches immediately and protect the <br /> cut or damaged areas with emulsified asphalt compounded specifically for <br /> horticultural use. i <br /> H. Remove all damaged trees and plants that die or suffer permanent injury and I <br /> replace them with a specimen of equal or better quality. <br /> I. Coordinate Work in this Section with requirements of other sections herein. <br /> 1.4 PROTECTION OF IRRIGATION <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for maintaining in good condition all <br /> irrigation systems within the easements, which could be damaged by <br /> construction activities. The CONTRACTOR shall repair any irrigation systems <br /> damaged by construction activities within two (2) days. Irrigation systems <br /> partially within the right-of-way of 8th Street and all intersecting side streets within <br /> project limits may be cut off and capped or connected to same system to j <br /> maintain functionality. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for maintaining i <br /> the functionality of the remaining portion of the system if it should fall outside of <br /> the right-of-way. <br /> 1.5 PROTECTION OF EXISTING STRUCTURES <br /> A. Underground Structures: <br /> 1.
