MEMORANDUM <br />�.. ? <br />TO: Joseph A. Baird; County Administrator <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD CONCURRENCE: <br />DATE: February 20, 2014 <br />SUBJECT: Windsor Properties Request for Abandonment of_a Portion of Savannah Drive <br />within the Windsor Development [2002100034-71226IROW-13-11-06] <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal consideration by the Board of County <br />Commissioners at its regular meeting of March 4 2014. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />Windsor Properties has submitted a petition to abandon a small portion of Savannah Drive within the <br />Windsor development. The _subject_ portion of right-of-way is part of Savannah_ Drive,_ an internal <br />perimeter- loop road that serves thewesternportion of Windsor. The subject right-of-way to be <br />abandoned is a narrow triangle (sliver) that measures approximately 5' at its widest, and 90' in length, <br />tapering to a point. The area proposed to be abandoned is approximately 343 sq. ft and will not affect <br />the function of Savannah Drive. <br />The applicant is requesting that this portion of right-of-way be abandoned to"square off' the adjacent <br />lot. If abandoned, the right-of-way area will be added to the adjacent parcels (Lot 1, Block 62 and the <br />adjacent common area tract). <br />The Board is now to consider the abandonment request. <br />The subject portion of right-of-way was created via the Windsor Plat 25, which was recorded in Plat <br />Book 17, Page 32. The applicant is requesting the abandonment to "square -off' a site for a proposed <br />single family home. By separate application, the applicant is also pursuing a re -plat of the adjacent lot <br />and tract to flip the location of the tract and lot. If the abandonment is approved, the abandoned right- <br />of-way area will be attached to the adjacent lot and tract.
