Indian River County 1 Impact Fee Update Study <br />X. Educational Facilities <br />Educational facilities impact fees are used to fund the capital construction and expansion of <br />land, facilities and capital equipment required to support the additional school facilities <br />demand created by new growth. This section presents the results of the educational <br />facilities impact fee update study for Indian River County and will serve as the technical <br />support document for the calculated school impact fee schedule. <br />There are several major elements associated with the development of the educational <br />facilities impact fee. These include: <br />• Facility Inventory <br />• Service Area and Enrollment <br />• Facility Service Delivery <br />• Cost Component <br />• Credit Component <br />• Net Impact Cost per Student <br />• Student Generation Rate <br />• Calculated Educational Facilities Impact Fee Schedule <br />• Affordable Growth Strategy <br />• Educational Facilities Impact Fee Schedule Comparison <br />Facility Inventory <br />The Indian River County School District provides public education facilities that are available <br />to all school-age residents of Indian River County. As such, this analysis will consider all <br />public elementary, middle, and high school level facilities and the students attending these <br />facilities located throughout and living within Indian River County. <br />The District currently operates 19 traditional public schools that serve the students of Indian <br />River County and its municipalities, including 13 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, and <br />2 high schools.
