C.C. 11. 8.16 <br />Office of <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Dylan Reingold, County Attorney <br />01 --- <br />DATE: October 24, 2016 <br />SUBJECT: Ordinance Concerning Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers <br />BACKGROUND. <br />ATTORNEY <br />10h <br />On May 10, 2016, the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners (the "Board') enacted <br />regulations within the Indian River County Pain Management Clinic and Controlled Substances <br />Ordinance, Chapter 315 of the Indian River County Code of Ordinances (the "Ordinance") concerning <br />medical marijuana treatments centers in advance of the vote on Amendment 2. On October 18, 2016, the <br />Board adopted land development regulations concerning medical marijuana treatment centers. On <br />October 18, 2016, the Board also authorized staff to advertise for a public hearing for an ordinance to <br />clarify some of the language within the Ordinance, including the definition of a medical marijuana <br />treatment center and that cultivation of marijuana in Indian River County is prohibited.
