SECTION 00800 - SUPPLEMENTARY CONDITIONS TO THE GENERAL CONDITIONS SC -1.00 Introduction These Supplementary Conditions amend or supplement the Standard General Conditions of the Construction Contract (No. 1910-8, 1996 Edition) and other provisions of the Contract Documents as indicated below. All provisions, which are not so amended or supplemented, remain in full force and effect. The terms used in these Supplementary Conditions will have the meanings indicated in the General Conditions. SC -1.02 Terminology SC -1.02.D.1, 2, and 3 Delete paragraphs GC -1.02.D.1, 2, and 3 in their entirety and insert the following paragraphs in their place: D. Furnish, Install, Perform, Provide 1. The word "furnish" shall mean to supply and deliver services, materials, or equipment to the Site (or some other specified location) ready for use or installation and in usable or operable condition. 2. The word "install" shall mean to put into use or place in final position services, materials, or equipment complete and ready for intended use. 3. The words "perform" or "provide" shall mean to furnish and install services, materials, or equipment complete and ready for intended use. SC -2.05 Before Starting Construction SC -2.05.C. Delete paragraph GC 2.05.0 in its entirety and insert the following paragraph in its place: C. Evidence of Insurance: CONTRACTOR shall not commence work under this Contract until he has obtained all insurance required under Article 5 and such insurance has been delivered to the OWNER and approved by the OWNER, nor shall the CONTRACTOR allow any Subcontractor to commence work on his subcontract until all similar insurance required of the Subcontractor has been so obtained and approved. All such insurance shall remain in effect until final payment and at all times thereafter when CONTRACTOR may be correcting, removing or replacing defective Work in accordance with Article 13. SC -2.06 Preconstruction Conference SC -2.06 Delete paragraph GC -2.06.A in its entirety and insert the following paragraph in its place: A. Immediately after awarding the contract, but before the CONTRACTOR begins work, the Project Manager will call a preconstruction conference at a place the ENGINEER designates to establish an understanding among the parties as to the work and to discuss schedules referred to in paragraph 2.05 B, procedures for handling Shop Drawings and other submittals, and maintaining required records.
