Cancellation of Taxes on Certain Property Acquired by Indian <br />River County <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 7/16/92: <br />TO: The Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: L --Z— William G. Collins II - Deputy County Attorney <br />DATE: July 16, 1992 <br />SUBJECT: Cancellation of Taxes on Certain Property Acquired by Indian <br />River County <br />Attached for your consideration is a resolution prepared for the purpose of <br />cancelling any delinquent or current taxes which may exist on the following <br />property acquired by Indian River County for public purpose: <br />A parcel of land lying in Section 13-, Township"M South, Range 39 <br />East, Indian River County, Florida (fully described in that Warranty <br />Deed recorded in O.R. Book 937, Page 2731, Public Records of Indian <br />River County, Florida) . <br />Acquired from David A. Marine for right-of-way. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Authorize the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners to execute the <br />attached Resolution and the Clerk to send a certified copy of same to the <br />Tax Collector so that any delinquent or current taxes can be cancelled. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 92-130, cancelling certain taxes upon <br />publicly owned lands, pursuant to Section 196.28, <br />Florida Statutes. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92- UD <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, CANCELLING CERTAIN TAXES UPON <br />PUBLICLY OWNED LANDS, PURSUANT TO SECTION <br />196.281 FLORIDA STATUTES. <br />WHEREAS, section 196.28, Florida Statutes, allows the Board of <br />County Commissioners of each County to cancel and discharge any and all <br />liens for taxes, delinquent or current, held or owned by the county or the <br />state, upon lands heretofore or hereafter conveyed to or acquired by any <br />agency, governmental subdivision, or municipality of the state, or the United <br />States, for road purposes, defense purposes, recreation, reforestation, or <br />other public use; and <br />36 <br />
