1 <br />1 <br />m <br />1 <br />0 <br />r <br />SECTION 1.2 - GENERAL OPERATING PROCEDURES <br />1.2.1 Hours of Operation <br />The landfills shall be open to receive solid waste from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. seven days per <br />week except for designated holidays. Wastes will not be received on Independence Day, <br />Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. <br />1.2.2 Entrance Procedures <br />The Contractor shall be on duty at all times the landfill is open to receive solid waste. The gates <br />shall be locked at all other times. Drivers of waste hauling vehicles arriving at the landfill site <br />shall be required to stop and receive a weight ticket or identification tag from the county - <br />employed weigh master. The Contractor shall accept at the landfill only those solid wastes that <br />are accompanied by an official weight tag issued by the landfill weigh master. Failure to comply <br />with this provision shall be deemed a basis for this agreement to be terminated for cause. <br />1.2.3 Traffic Control <br />After the weigh master returns the copy of the weight ticket, a driver delivering Class I wastes <br />will proceed to the Class I fill area, following the traffic signs and markers. The Contractor shall <br />provide and place signs and markers to indicate the direction to the area being filled and the <br />traffic pattern to be observed. An attendant at the face of the fill shall check the type of wastes <br />and direct the driver to the location where the load is to be deposited. Signs and markers shall be <br />of substantial all weather type construction which can readily be relocated and shall be <br />acceptable to the County. <br />1.2.4 Maintenance of On -Site Facilities and Other Responsibilities <br />Unless otherwise specified, the Contractor shall be responsible for maintenance and repair of the <br />following facilities: <br />a. Office Building and Associated Ancillary Facilities - The portion of the office building, <br />maintenance building and all associated ancillary facilities designated to be used by the <br />Contractor shall be maintained in good condition at all times. <br />b. Backup Equipment - Contractor shall furnish, at his own expense, whatever backup or <br />substitute equipment or facilities required to continue operation of Class I landfill areas in <br />accordance with Agreement requirements. <br />c.
