1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />a <br />v <br />0 <br />3 <br />3 <br />1 <br />1 <br />SECTION 1.7 QUALITY CONTROL <br />1.7.1 Testing Laboratory Service <br />All tests which require the services of a laboratory to determine compliance with the Agreement <br />shall be performed by an independent commercial testing laboratory under contract to the <br />County. The laboratory shall be staffed with experienced technicians, properly equipped, and <br />fully qualified to perform the tests in accordance with the specified standards. <br />1.7.2 Testing Laboratory Services Furnished by Contractor <br />Contractor shall be responsible for all testing laboratory services in connection with concrete <br />materials and mix designs, the design of asphalt mixtures, gradation tests for embedment, fill, <br />and backfill materials, and all other tests and engineering data required for the County's review <br />of materials and equipment proposed to be used in the Work. Contractor shall obtain the <br />County's acceptance of the testing laboratory results before having services performed, and shall <br />pay all costs for services. <br />1.7.3 Testing Laboratory Services Furnished by County <br />County shall pay all charges of testing laboratories for quality control tests made in the field or <br />laboratory on asphalt mixtures, moisture -density (Proctor) and relative density tests on fill and <br />backfill materials, in-place field density tests on fills, during and after their incorporation in the <br />Work. Field sampling and testing will be performed by the County or testing -laboratory <br />personnel, in the general manner indicated in the Specifications, with minimum interference with <br />construction operations. County shall determine the exact time and location of field sampling <br />and testing, and may require such additional sampling and testing as necessary to determine that <br />materials and equipment conform with data previously furnished by Contractor and with the <br />Agreement. <br />Arrangements for delivery of samples and test specimens to the testing laboratory will be made <br />by the County. The testing laboratory shall perform all laboratory tests within a reasonable time <br />consistent with the specified standards and shall furnish a written report of each test to the <br />County. <br />Contractor shall furnish all sample materials and cooperate in the sampling and field testing <br />activities, interrupting the Work when necessary. When sampling or testing activities are <br />performed in the field by the County or testing laboratory personnel, Contractor shall furnish <br />personnel and facilities to assist in the activities. <br />The County shall not retain any testing laboratory against which Contractor has reasonable <br />objection, and if at any time during the landfill operations contract the services become <br />unacceptable to the Contractor, he may request in writing that such services be terminated. The <br />request must be supported with evidence of improper testing.
