Brown, County Administrator <br />Vincent Burke, P.E., Director of Utility Services <br />Arjuna Weragoda, P.E., Capital Projects Manager <br />Work Order No. 10 with KHA — North RO Water Treatment Facility 2016/2017 <br />Permit Renewal <br />DESCRIPTIONS AND CONDITIONS: <br />Indian River County Department of Utility Services (IRCDUS) operates the North Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water <br />Treatment Facility (WTF) located at the northwest corner of Hobart Road (77th Street) and 58th Avenue. The <br />plant is currently permitted for 11.44 MGD. The current IRCDUS North RO WTF, Florida Department of <br />Environmental Protection (FDEP) Permit No. 31-FL0166511-003 will expire on September 10, 2017. The <br />renewal application is due 180 days prior to the expiration date, or by March 14, 2017. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />Staff requested that Kimley-Horn and Associates (KHA) submit a proposal to prepare and submit the FDEP <br />renewal application for the existing North RO WTF permit. The scope of the renewal requirements are more <br />specifically described in the attached Work Order No. 10. On November 4, 2014, the Indian River County Board <br />of County Commissioners (BCC) approved the Extension and Amendment of the Continuing Contract <br />Agreement for Professional Services with KHA. The total negotiated cost for the permit renewal is a lump sum <br />amount of $47,384.00. KHA will prepare two copies of the permit package to be submitted to the Florida <br />Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Southeast District. <br />FUNDING: <br />Funding for Work Order No. 10 is available in the Water Treatment -Other Professional Services account within <br />the Utilities Operating Fund.
