Zito, Assistant County Administrator <br />Subject: Irrigation System Pump Station Replacement at Sandridge Golf Club <br />- Lakes Golf Course <br />DESCRIPTIONS AND CONDITIONS: <br />The irrigation pump station for the Lakes Golf Course was installed in April 1992, with an <br />anticipated life expectancy of twenty years. Only one of the two pumps in the station is currently <br />operational, with the second deemed beyond repair. Staff recently advertised an Invitation to Bid <br />(ITB) for the replacement of the entire irrigation system on the Lakes Golf Course, including the <br />pump station. As the condition of the operating pump has continued to decline, and the necessity <br />that the pump station be replaced whether or not the irrigation system bid is awarded, Staff <br />deleted the pump station replacement from the irrigation 'bid and solicited quotes for <br />replacement of the pump station separately. <br />The irrigation system project is scheduled to begin no earlier than May to minimize impact to play <br />on the Lakes Course. With a lead-time for pumps and appurtenances of six to eight weeks after <br />order, removal of the pump station separately from the bid will enable its replacement as early as <br />March.
