She has also served as the chair of the Florida Atlantic University Board of <br />Trustees. <br />Ms. Plymale has dedicated much of her time to work with the YMCA, the Children's Home <br />Society of Florida, and the Healthy Kids Corporation. She is also a member of the Florida Atlantic <br />University Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute. Ms. Plymale earned an undergraduate degree <br />from St. Leo University. <br />William "Bill" Schifino, Jr. <br />Mr. Schifino currently serves as president of The Florida Bar for the 2016-2017 term, and <br />previously served as president of the Hillsborough County Bar Association. In addition, Mr. <br />Schifino recently concluded eight years of service as a member of the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit <br />Judicial Nominating Commission, serving as its chair. Both Governors Jeb Bush and Charlie Crist <br />appointed him to this critical position. <br />Mr. Schifino has also dedicated significant time to the Florida Guardian ad Litem Association, Big <br />Brothers/Big Sisters of Greater Tampa, Boys & Girls Club of Tampa Bay, Inc., and the Tampa Bay <br />Little League, Inc. He earned his undergraduate degree from Tulane University and his law <br />degree from the University of Florida College of Law, where he serves on the Board of Trustees of <br />the OF Law Center Association. Mr. Schifino is board certified in the area of business litigation. <br />Chris Smith <br />Former Senator Smith has been an active member of the Ft. Lauderdale community throughout his <br />legal career. He served as president of the Fort Lauderdale Branch of the National Association for <br />the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Youth Council and was later appointed to the City <br />of Fort Lauderdale's Planning and Zoning Board, where he served as the youngest member. <br />Senator Smith went on to serve nearly two decades in the Florida Legislature while maintaining a <br />private law practice in South Florida. He served as the Democratic Leader in both the House and <br />the Senate during the same time periods that President Negron served as the Appropriations Chair <br />in the House and Senate. Senator Smith earned his undergraduate degree from Johnson C. Smith <br />University (JCSU) in Charlotte, North Carolina, and his law degree from Florida State University <br />College of Law. <br />Bob Solari <br />After a successful private sector career in citrus, real estate, and financial planning, Commissioner <br />Solari turned to serve his community of more than 35 years. As a former City of Vero Beach <br />Council member and now Indian River County Commissioner, he has been a strong advocate for <br />Indian River County taxpayers and a zealous defender of individual rights. <br />Commissioner Solari is a graduate of the University of Denver and Fordham University School of <br />Law.
