Ln0 <br />O <br />CD <br />a <br />L <br />5/7/91 (LEGAL)Docs1 (Ob) 677/9/ <br />RESOLUTION NO: 91-a <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A DISASTER <br />EMERGENCY EMPLOYEE POLICY. <br />WHEREAS, Florida Statutes provide that the Board <br />of County Commissioners of each county in the state of <br />Florida is responsible to safeguard the life and property of <br />its citizens. <br />WHEREAS, In order to fulfill this requirement, <br />during an emergency, as declared by the Governor or by the <br />Indian River County Commission, or designated successor it <br />is necessary that key county personnel be available, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that all department <br />heads or their designated replacement shall be available and <br />on stand -by -call; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that unavailable department <br />heads shall <br />provide good <br />and <br />sufficient reason for their unavailability; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Emergency Services <br />Director or his designated replacement shall be available <br />for emergency duty at all times; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that each department head <br />is responsible to maintain and provide the services and <br />duties of his respective department during <br />situations; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any county <br />emergency <br />employees <br />refusing to perform the duties of his position during an <br />emergency without good cause shall be subject to termination <br />from county employment; and <br />BE IT RESOLVED that during a declared emergency <br />this policy shall supersede all other county personnel <br />policies; and <br />FURTHERMORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a copy of the <br />Peacetime Emergency Policy shall be kept in the office of <br />the Clerk of Circuit Court and of the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County at all times. <br />1 <br />
