r <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously (3-0, <br />Chairman Eggert being absent) approved the quit- <br />claim deed and the easement as set out in the above <br />staff recommendation. <br />Public Works Director Jim Davis advised that the next step <br />would be to develop a special assessment project to clean up the <br />paving of the road. The Council on Aging and a lot of other non- <br />residential facilities are on the road and the road is currently <br />somewhat hazardous. We did improve the western 600 feet 7 or 8 <br />years ago, but he felt we need to have an improvement program to <br />improve the rest of the road. <br />Commissioner Scurlock raised the question.of whether access <br />should be allowed onto U.S. #1, and'he hoped vie give that a great <br />deal of thought. <br />COPY OF QUIT -CLAIM DEED AND EASEMENT ARE ON FILE <br />IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />ELM'S III - (ENVIRONMENTAL LAND MANAGEMENT III) <br />This item was deferred until Chairman Eggert could be here to <br />present the matter. <br />DISCUSSION REGARDING PUTTING PROCLAMATIONS ON THE AGENDA <br />Vice Chairman Bowman wished to discuss the presentation of <br />proclamations at BCC meetings, and Commissioner Scurlock suggested <br />that this be discussed when the new Commissioners are seated. <br />There being no further business, on motion duly made, seconded <br />and carried, the Board adjourned at 9:35 o'clock A.M. <br />ATTEST: <br />2 - <br />nn <br />.
