7/29/91(legal)Ob <br />RESOLUTION 91-__93 <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, CREATING AN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT ADVISORY <br />COMMITTEE. <br />WHEREAS, the electors of Indian River County approved, by <br />referendum at the March 12, 1991 election, the consolidation of the <br />North, West, and South County Fire Districts and the Emergency <br />Medical Services Division into a new Emergency Services District, <br />embracing the entire County except Indian River Shores; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County has determined that it would be advisable to create an ad- <br />visory committee to make recommendations to the Board of County <br />Commissioners concerning said District, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, that: <br />1. There is hereby created an Emergency Services District Advisory <br />Committee to be composed of 14* members with membership and <br />the initial terms of office in years as follows: <br />Commissioner Carolyn K. Eggert, Indian River County (4) <br />Chairman <br />Commissioner Don C. Scurlock, Jr., Indian River County (4) <br />Mayor Jay Smith, City of Vero Beach (4) <br />Council Representative, City of Vero Beach (2) <br />Lee Carter, Fellsmere (2) <br />Lonnie Powell, Sebastian (4) <br />Ernie Polverari, Town of Orchid (2) <br />Arthur J. Harris, Wabasso and Gifford (2) <br />Richard Carter, Vero Beach Vol. Fire Department (2) <br />Patricia E. Johnson, North County Vol. Fire Department (2) <br />Jim Judge, Chief Paramedic (4) <br />Wilbur Tripp, South County Fire Fighters, Paid (4) <br />Mike Grice, North County Fire Fighters, Paid (2) <br />Byron T. Cooksey, Esq., Member at Large (4) <br />* Ex officio members: Joe Dorsky, Town of Indian River <br />Shores and County Staff <br />2. The committee shall meet during the month of June and January <br />or at the call of its chairman and shall be advisory only. <br />3 All advisory committees previously established for emergency <br />services and the various fire districts are hereby abolished. <br />4. The provisions of Title 1, Chapter 101 of the Code of Ordinances <br />of Indian River County shall apply to this advisory committee <br />except regular terms of office shall be 4 years. <br />The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner <br />Wheel er and the motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />
