SECTION 01541 <br />PROTECTION OF THE WORK AND PROPERTY <br />B. Information shown on the Drawings as to the location of existing utilities has <br />been prepared from the most reliable data available to the Engineer. This <br />information is not guaranteed, however, and it shall be this CONTRACTOR's <br />responsibility to determine the location, character and depth of any existing <br />utilities. He shall assist the utility companies, by every means possible to <br />determine said locations. Extreme caution shall be exercised to eliminate any <br />possibility of any damage to utilities resulting from his activities. <br />1.7 ADJUSTMENTS OF UTILITY CASTINGS, COVERS AND BOXES <br />A. All existing utility castings, including valve boxes, junction boxes, manholes, pull <br />boxes, inlets and similar structures in the areas of construction that are to <br />remain in service shall be adjusted by the CONTRACTOR to bring them flush <br />with the surface of the finished work. <br />B. The CONTRACTOR shall coordinate the utilities to ensure proper construction <br />sequencing.
