INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEERING DIVISION SPECIAL CONDITIONS <br />FOR RIGHT-OF-WAY CONSTRUCTION <br />SPECIAL CONDITIONS: <br />1. All work performed under this permit shall be in accordance with the Florida Department of <br />Transportation Design Standards (http://www.dot.state.FDOT 2016 Design Standards), Indices 600. The <br />Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, and Indian River County Typical Drawings, latest editions. <br />2. All special conditions listed are in addition to the attached Indian River County Traffic Engineering <br />Regulations for Maintenance of Traffic. <br />3. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to contact Sunshine State One Call System <br />(1-800-432-4770) at least 72 hours in advance of commencing construction work to coordinate traffic <br />control and obtain locations of underground traffic signal conduit for the County's Computerized Traffic <br />Signal Coordination System. <br />4. The contractor shall be responsible for using the applicable Traffic Control Plan for the type of work being <br />performed. All job supervisors shall have a copy of the control plan on site at all times and shall be <br />familiar with the correct set-up of the plan. <br />5. At least one lane of traffic shall be maintained at all times. One -lane traffic shall be controlled with at <br />least two (2) flagmen. Flagmen shall use STOP/SLOW paddles at all times. Flags shall not be used for <br />one -lane traffic control. <br />6. After proper notification to Traffic Engineering, consideration will be given to the contractor to close <br />roadways to through traffic on a daily basis during daylight hours on narrow roadways where maintaining <br />one -lane traffic would be difficult. The roadway shall be open to traffic at the end of each work day and <br />on weekends. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to provide all necessary construction signs and <br />traffic control devices to close the road and provide a detour route in accordance with Indian River County <br />standards. Signing shall be installed that clearly indicates the time periods the road is closed to traffic. <br />7. There shall be no construction work after dark. <br />8.
